Casa do Rio is the result of the reconstruction of a house dating from 1874.

The rehabilitation respected the architectural features of the Douro and used advanced methods and technologies to create a space of excellence and comfort.

With modern decoration and design, the house has eight rooms, all overlooking the river. It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, leisure and games room, with fireplace, balconies, swimming pool, and several terraces in the garden, all with panoramic views of the river with a private dock.

Designed to welcome families, groups of friends, small groups of tourists and companys, it has terraces and a river, appealing to water sports and leisure or even parties in total privacy, in harmony with the beauty of this wonderful kingdom, with the privilege of enjoying its aromas and flavours.

Our goal is to provide our visitors with a comfortable experience, close to nature, due to Casa do Rio’s excellent location.

Access

The arrival by land, is over a hill 800 meters high, from the plateau of Alijó to the banks of the Douro River.

By boat, the arrival is no less impactful. Get to Casa do Rio by boat through Pinhão or another farm, by our private dock, in a service we can offer. On this trip, enjoy a glass of Port wine. Feel at the centre of attention, immersed in the beauty of nature. With the warm, dry air at your fingertips, enjoy the slopes of vineyards and olive trees, in a setting worthy of a movie. When you arrive, don’t worry about cars, walk 50 meters and we’ll help you with your bags!
